Senior Unix Systems Administrator
CA - Irvine or TX - Dallas

As Senior Unix Systems Administrator, you'll advance your core competencies by working alongside a talented team of savvy IT professionals in a diverse computing environment. You will also be exposed to a wide variety of new skills as you also assist with high end storage networks, data center migration, disaster recovery, security initiatives, productivity optimization efforts, systems implementation, 24x7 support, and much more. . .
Our Requirements
- 7+ years of IBM AIX system administration experience, including:
- 5+ years of AIX-specific experience.
- At least one year of RedHat Linux Administration.
- Exposure to most AIX 5L system administration tools, commands and utilities.
- Configuration experience in multiple logical subsystems utilizing IBM HMC, including LPAR configuration, NIM and VIO.
- Experience in installing and administring TSM (Server and client) to manage backup and restore processes.
- Experience with Performance Tuning, UNIX security fundamentals, and account administration.
- LTOx library experience.
- Proficiency and knowledge in Advanced POWER Virtualization on IBM P5 Systems.
- Experience in installing and administring HACMP.
- Ability to provide direct support for storage administration of Hitachi USP600, FAStT/DS4800 and McData SAN switches.
- Ability to write functional scripts in an administrative language (Shell, Perl).
- Strong proficiency with IBM's pSeries product line.
- Good knowledge in Networks, Routers, Switches, SAN, NAS, Hitachi Storage, Enterprise Storage.
- Understanding of SOX compliance.
- Ability and willingness to support a 24x7 Production and Development environment.
- Project management skills and ability to follow operational procedures.
Preferred, but not required:
- Certifications on AIX, HACMP, CISCO, etc.
- Bachelor's degree.

More About Your Role
In our brand new Dallas data center, you'll join our Technical Infrastructure Team and report to the Manager of Open Systems. You'll begin with formalized training at our Irvine, California office, where you'll have an opportunity to meet the rest of the team and develop an understanding of our current systems and processes. Once up to speed, you will take point in:
- Supporting and maintaining our IBM P5-Series servers running AIX 5.3, several terabytes of Hitachi USP and IBM DS4800 disk storage, TSM, and SAN.
- Utilizing numerous Unix-based tools, scripting languages and automated monitoring services to support and control a diverse computing environment.
- Coaching and mentoring other Administrators.
- Providing on-call support as needed to keep our 24/7 operations up and running.
You will also become an active contributor on several of our major current initiatives, which include:
- Transitioning our operations and building the infrastructure of the new Dallas facility.
- Developing a disaster recovery system from the ground up.
- Enhancing our security initiatives.
- Implementing various new solutions designed to optimize our productivity and environment.
